Group Life and Disability Insurance Scheme
As a responsible employer you would surely like to protect your best assets – your people, and their loved ones. To help you achieve this, Cim Life's Group Life and Disability Insurance Scheme provides cover for several people. Under this scheme, if an employee dies or is permanently disabled in service, Cim Life will pay a fixed amount as a lump sum benefit to the employee's family and dependents (if the disability is caused by an illness, the lump sum will be paid in twenty-four monthly instalments).

Optional additional covers include
A death in service pension, which can offer a regular income to an employee's dependants based upon a percentage of the employee's salary or their prospective pension
It is also possible to include benefits for surviving children under the age of 18

Benefits for employers
The scheme can be structured with premium rates that represent a very low percentage of the employer's payroll
Premiums on registered schemes are regarded as a business expense, hence reducing the net cost to the employer
The improved employee benefits package helps with recruitment and staff retention
The scheme offers a free cover limit, which means that medical examination is not required up to a certain cover limit

Benefits for employees
Premiums paid on behalf of an employee are not treated as a benefit in kind, and are therefore not taxable
Cover can be continued (up to a certain period), if an employee is absent from work due to an illness, or is taking a sabbatical (with the employer's consent)
Employees receive death and disability cover of two times their annual salary
They also benefit from cover for their spouse and children before retirement

The professionals at Cim Life will be happy to assess your company's needs and provide advice on the best arrangement for individual businesses.
